Just for Kicks!

Soccer moms know the truth...pretty much every soccer game starts to look the same when you are a scrapbooker. I decided I should mix it up a bit and scrap a practice instead of a game for the week this was taken (it helped clinche my decision that I had a crop to go to during the game that weekend, tee hee!).  My daughter certainly mixed it up color wise for her practice outfit that day, didn't she?  So scrapping the pictures was a bit of a challenge.  I went with the pink of her shirt for a little contrast and I actually love the look against the green, white and black of the soccer papers.

Notice, too, that I used the mini soccer balls popped up on the larger ones for my little banner. I love a little dimension on my pages! So next time you're faced with the same old weekly game photos, mix it up and photograph a practice instead, just for kicks!!

Dance All Day!

Our family spends every New Years Day with a group of our friends kicking off the new year
with snow activities (if we have snow) and games.  Last year was the year of "Just Dance."
Lily & her friend, Kate, spent hours dancing.  I took pictures of them dancing to Tina
Turner's "Proud Mary" and then tried it myself.  I have no idea how these girls did this over
and over again as it wasn't an easy routine, but they did it and smiled the whole time!

I used a sketch from ScrapFreak for this layout.

I love that these SS&M dance papers are a neutral black and white.  It really allows me to
add color without taking away from the great dance papers.

Wild About Tigger!

I am having so much fun playing with the new paper lines!  I think it's really fun to come up with ideas to use the papers other than the way they were intended.  And, today's project is no exception!

First, I used the zebra print on the Cheer paper from the Girls Rule Collection.  Then,  I got comfy with American Idol and a marker and went to town. (Yep! I'm a lefty...)

Before I knew it, I no longer had zebra paper-- I had TIGER paper.... make that TIGGER paper!

Seriously!  Is that fun, or what?!!?   Here's a close up of the paper.  I cut the word "WILD" out of the paper with my cricut to make my title.
I have so many fun ideas swirling around in my head of what to do with all of this fun paper!  I can't wait to show you more!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you were inspired!

Homecoming

I know it's a little late, but I finally scrapped some of my daughter's homecoming photos.  The SS&M Title Sports paper made it easy to capture those special moments.  I paper is so beautiful it doesn't need much embellishment.  The paper is a muted blue/grey so it acts as a great neutral background not matter what color the dress or suit!

Let's Have a Party!

Year end team parties are so much fun...the awards, the cake, the slide shows!!  This Cheer Banquet for my daughter was no exception. The moms that helped host it did a phenomenal job with decor, all the way down to tickets personalized for each girl!  I had to scrap this banquet to capture it all in one place, the certificate, the ticket, the team photo...all of it!

I hand cut the title Cheer from the Girls Rule paper and popdotted it for some dimension. The stars are mounted on chipboard and also pop dotted and given a little bling.

I love this game!

I love capturing moments such as the last huddle of the regular season; here my son's football team is celebrating another win to close the regular season at 8-0! What a great accomplishment!

When I use the Super Size Stickers, I like to keep the layout simple so the sticker really pops. I also added a small pop of color by using the Girls Rule Gymnastics paper for my journaling strips.

I also added the scores of all of the games on the back of the layout.

Orange you glad I didn't scrap bananas? :)

Last February, I traveled to California to visit with one of my best friends, Christy. While we were there, I literally walked down the street to a PARK with tons of orange trees...and even passed several orange groves. This Midwest girl was in HEAVEN! So I snapped a bunch of pictures and here is what I came up with...

Using a circle punch and some red ink, I made these orange embellishments for my layout!! The Cousin paper was absolutely the PERFECT color!! I might have to try to make some other fruits now!  Have any ideas? Share them!!

Leprechaun Dust

St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner!
I made some Leprechaun Dust for some of my little friends.
The Golf Paper (#1390) in the "Girls Rule" was just perfect
green for decorating this little recycled drink container.

To make the shamrock, I just punched 3 hearts out of the back side of
Golf paper and glued the edges together.

To cover the top I cut out a cardboard circle and covered it
with the Golf paper.  Isn't it a cute way to make sure
the Lebrechaun Dust doesn't spill?

The Leprechaun Dust is a sugar and glitter mixture.
Have your children spread it on your lawn
for Good Luck on St. Patrick's Day!

Duffy the Defuzzinator

We had a new addition to our family this summer, Duffy the Goldendoodle.  We love, love, love this dog!  He is so sweet and funny!  One of his favorite activities is to completely destroy a squeaky tennis ball.  First, he squeaks it until the squeaker doesn't work anymore.  That part takes a while, trust me--  "SQUEAKA, SQUEAKA, SQUEAKA...."    Once the squeaker has died a long, painful (for us!) death, he proceeds to rip the fuzz off of the ball until it's just a poor nekkid, squeakless ball.  Then, he comes to me as if to say, "Can I have a new ball?  This one is broken!"
So, of course, I had to take photos of his favorite activity!  My favorite is the one where he has the fuzz hanging from is lip!  The Tennis Paper from the "Girls Rule" Collection was just perfect for this layout!

Hi There!

Well, hello there! It's me, Lisa!  I'm so excited to be on the team and be creating my first post for you...  So here goes!
My middle daughter is on Junior Varsity Cheer at our High School and it's Basketball season so our afternoons and evenings have been spent in the bleachers of the gym.  Last week was our "homecoming" of the basketball season so the girls performed half time as well as their usual cheer routines.  I created this layout to highlight the many pictures from the game.

SuperBowl party!

Here are some photos from my son's first pre-game SuperBowl party - awwww look at him back in first grade! :)

The journaling reads:  A tradition began here at the Shearon's house on Nov. 17, 2007 - our pre SuperBowl party - good food, game face painting, car painting and team bonding!

I love that the backside of the NEW Girls Rule Gymnastics paper is my son's football team colors - red, black & white ... I am sure I will use this paper a lot!

Huntin' Dogs

When I saw this new line of paper, I thought to myself...nice, but I don't hunt anything. Then I heard the distant sounds of my beagles yelping at the squirrel in the back yard. I may not hunt, but they sure do...I own HUNTIN' DOGS!

So here is a layout to showcase my howling hunters! Aren't they cute?

These Girls Make Me Laugh!

Apple picking always leads to some fun pictures.  This year we had some friends join us.  The girls are so in awe of Lily and follow her around.  They are also so darn funny!  I have never met a girls, including Lily, so quick whitted and funny. I really enjoy being around them.

I went  bright for the background so the black & white of the "Girls Rule" papers really popped in contrast.  Don't you just love the animal print? I know I do!

The word "laugh"was fussy cut from the Cheer paper.  After crinkling and lightly sanding the cut letters, I misted it with Glimmer Mist.  The effect is a pretty shimmer.

Calendar Line

Its been a long time since I posted a layout using the calendar line!  This line was perfect for scrapping my Christmas pictures.  I combined the December paper with some scraps I had left from a couple of the other lines and this layout was complete.  I love how well the papers compliment each other.  I got the amazing Christmas Tree off of Pinterest.

Think Spring!!

The weather here in Indiana has been so mild...even on the day when the Groundhog saw his shadow and predicted more winter. Well Mr. Groundhog...scrapbooking predicts there is gonna be SPRING...

By going through my scraps and running them through my Sizzix and varies punches, I was able to create the feeling of the tree that my daughter was climbing in.

What's the weather like where you are??

Meet Our Newest DT Member Lisa Spiegel!!

First of all, I want to THANK all of you who submitted to our DT call.  We had an amazing group of talent and it was extremely difficult to choose just one designer.

I want to welcome Lisa Spiegel as the newest member to the Scrappin' Sports & More Design Team.  I am really excited for Lisa's first post with us.  Of course, we will have to wait a little while until she gets her first shipment of Scrappin' Sports goodies!!

So...here is a little bit about Lisa

Hi all, I'm Lisa and I live in Southern CA with my husband of almost 20 years, and my three wonderful daughters, two crazy dogs and a fish!  I have been scrapping in some form all my life, but the “safe” way since 1995. I really feel that scrapbooking is my legacy to give my daughters, and the bonus is it provides me with some sanity in my otherwise hectic life.  Besides my full time job as Mommy, I am a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, Newborn Hearing Screener and Girl Scout Leader. My girls are involved in school, dance, cheer, band, soccer, scouts and more and I am their biggest cheerleader!!  I hope you enjoy my view of them through my scrapbook pages.  I am privileged to have been published many times and be on amazing design teams and this is no exception!  I am thrilled to be working with Scrappin Sports and More!

We are thrilled that Lisa is joining us, but we have also decided to give 6 additional designers a chance to be guest designers for Scrappin' Sports & More.  Over the next 6 months, you will also see wonderful creations from the following ladies:

Lynette Daniel
Suzanna Lee
Lana Day
Lisa Moen
Julie Rainbolt
Jill Utrup

I hope you will all join me in congratulating all these wonderful designers!!
