Love of the game ...

I love after-the-game photos of my son's sports teams.  These were taken at the end of their regular season last year, where they finished with an 8-0 record!  Such an exciting time for them!

I absolutely love SSM's new Sports & Activities papers - the brown and green color combo on the football paper is awesome!  And who knew I could mix it with red and black! :)

What a Kick!

Ever since I went Christmas shopping last November and saw The Gap with string art signs, I've wanted to incorporate it into my scrapbook page.  I started out with a simple L shaped design and used different colors of twine to make the design.  Once it was finished, it reminded me of a soccer net, thus the inspiration to make this page.  I think it adds some fun dimension to the page.  I cannot wait to try another shape in the future!

We want to thank our wonderful guest designer for July, Suzanna Lee!  She has provided us with some amazing layouts to share with you and today is no exception.  Today she has created a beautiful dance layout.  I love the embossed paper on this layout, it just screams ballet dance to me!!  The pink, black and grey combination provides the perfect backdrop for these adorable dancers!!

We've got Spirit!

We've got SPIRIT and we've got the best new sports and activities papers out there!  I just love this new Cheer paper....great colors, fun words and it coordinates perfectly with so many of the "b" sides of the other papers...you can't help but create a great page quickly and effortlessly!

Just a few layers, some circles and a punched banner (just punch circles and cut in half) and voila!

Water Trampoline

I knew when I saw the new Trampoline paper in the "Sports & Activies" line that I would be using it for a layout of the kiddos at camp. The water trampoline at camp is a favorite activity.  It was so easy to get fun action pictures of them using the water trampoline, as they were constantly on it.

I had a little fun with the word "trampoline." If you look closely you will see I highlighted the word by adding a chipboard "t" to the first letter each time trampoline is printed on the paper.  The photo below shows up close of this in the title work.

Sweet 'N Sassy

My daughter LOVED her tap costume for this year's recital! And, it was perfect for her- sassy, sparkly and red with stars! Every year before the recital, we stop at the park for a quick photoshoot. This year's photos came out gorgeous and I just can't get over how beautiful my little girl is!

The new SS&M collection, "Sports & Activities," has a great "dance" themed paper with tap on the front and ballet on the back. I love that the tap one is black and white because no matter the costume, the paper will go with it!

Final Season

These pictures were taken during Madalyn's final season playing in Findlay.  We are in the process of moving to North Carolina, so I wanted to make sure I captured a couple of photos from here last season playing in Ohio.  I'm happy to say it's not the end of her soccer career, just changing teams. 

I love the new trend using hexagons, so I decided to create a layout using some of my favorite papers.  I love that this layout can be created completely from leftover paper from other projects.  Next time though I need to invest in the Sizzix die to make it easier :)

Ballroom Dance Partners

I'm fairly certain that the experience of Ballroom Dancing wasn't as pleasant for the kids as it was for the grown-ups to watch, but it is offered as part of the curriculum in 4th and 5th grade at our elementary school thanks to a grant.  All year the kids worked on their Foxtrot, Cha-Cha, and other ballroom dances with their dance coach and the last class the parents were invited to watch.  They all did very well, and in fact, kids from our school won the 1st place trophy in the Ballroom Dance Competition that was held for our cluster of schools!  I was so excited to see the Ballroom Dance paper in the new release and got right to work to record this momentous (and sweaty palmed) occasion!
Can I just say that I love how well all the papers work together-again?  How perfectly the greens in the soccer paper match the dancing paper is no accident!  I also think one of the things that allows all of these papers to work so well together is the addition of black cardstock to help the photos "pop"...try adding some black cardstock to your next layout and see what happens!

Suzanna Lee shares a wonderful Soccer layout!

We have been very blessed to have some amazing Guest Designer the past several months and Suzanna Lee our guest for July is no exception.  I love all the layering she did on this layout.  She created the perfect backdrop for pictures of her daughter.  I love all the stitching and the "ribbon" she created out of the blue patterned paper.  Excellent job!!

Hip Hop 2012

I hope you have had a chance to check out new SS&M "Sports & Activities" line of papers.  It is full of fun colors and trendy backsides! This just might be my favorite line yet.  

Lily has groove.  She naturally has rhythm.  She can pick up the beat and move like nobody's business!   It is no surprise that Hip Hop is her favorite dance class.  I took these fun photos of her in her Hip Hop costume right before her evening recital.  

I knew I wanted to use the fun Hip Hop paper from the new line for this layout, but didn't want to leave out the pink in Lily's costume.  Totally love the contrast of the blue & black from the SS&M papers with pops of pink.

Easy Peasy Birthday Cards

I am so loving the new collection from Scrappin' Sports!  It's so fun and versatile and the "b" sides of the papers go with absolutely ANYTHING!!  Today I want to share two quick birthday cards I put together:  one for a boy, and one for a girl.

The boy card uses a classic red, white and blue color scheme:

Time for a Swim!

If you are like us, this summer has been HOT!!! So what better way to cool off than to hit the pool? For us, this is a daily occurance because my son is on the swim team. When I found out that Scrappin Sports & More were releasing new swimming paper (complete with a B side that is just as awesome as the A side) I was so happy!!

I used the words on the baseball paper to create a title, I lined my photos to be framed on both the left side and the bottom by the word "catcher" - how easy and fun is that! :)

Hello Summer Fun!!

I just LOVE the newest release from Scrappin' Sports & More - Sports & Activities.  It is 24 pages of bright, fun patterns!  For this layout I used the side 2 of several of the papers and created a bright fun layout to highlight the kids having a Blast at the Lake. 

The blue chevron background is the side 2 of the swimming paper.  It is so bright and fun, I'm sure you will see it appear a lot on the blog :)

Meet our Wonderful Guest Designer for July, Suzanna Lee

I am very exicted to share with you today a layout created by our fantastic July guest designer Suzanna Lee.  Let's get to know Suzanna a little bit better first!

Hey! I am Suzanna Lee, wife to Michael and Mummy to Nikolas and Mia. These 3 are not only my life but the subjects all things crafty. Scrapbooking is not only my creative outlet but a means to preserving my insanity (and memories)! Equally important to me is the photography. I spend as much time with my Nikon as I do at my scrappy desk. When not with my family or scrapbooking, I work part time as a Physical Therapist. Somebody has to support this addiction! LOL!! You are my Sunshine!

Oh, new papers!  They are FANTASTIC!!  The colors are great, the designs are wonderful and they are so fun to work with!  Today I wanted to share some of the "b" side patterns that are so fun!  There are dots, stripes and chevrons!  And the colors are so yummy!

I've been waiting for just the right opportunity to scrap this photo of my daughter and when my new papers arrived in the mail, I knew this was it!

Here's a closeup of the sun!  Isn't the yellow just perfect up against the blue?

And check out this little flower garden!  So stinkin' cute!!  I used the thin green stripe from the teeball paper for the flower stems!

New Papers = New FUN!!!

It's always so exciting to open a package of new papers...ahh..I even love the smell of them! (please tell me I'm not alone, here!)  I just love the new "Sports and Activities" line..it's SO cute...and like Shannon, I was inspired first by the Softball Papers.

I chose to use both sides for my layout, and added the backside of the Workout paper for the red polkadots and some whimsy.  I used the older Sports Head On Racing paper as the background as to me, it looks like the softball fence! I also used some of the Baseball Cardstock stickers as background to my title and the banner. I love how all the lines work so well together!!

The new line has arrived!!

There's nothing more satisfying than getting a box of scrapbook paper in the mail. When I got mine...filled with all the newly released paper from the Sports & Activities line...I immediately ran to my scraproom to play!!
