Game On!!

I love the motion that the Sports Head On line brings to the page.  I cut the socccer balls out of the paper and used them to draw the eye to my main photo.  I paired it with some custom paper & the blue from the Four H paper.  It was perfect for our school colors.

AAA Tryout

After spring baseball, my son decided he wanted to play a more competitive level of baseball.  This meant that he would have to tryout and be offered a spot on a team.  He tried out for two teams this summer - one was a AAA & Tournament team and the other was a Tournament only team.  This layout is about his tryout to the AAA & Tournament team in August.

Talk about Comfort!

We have an 85 pound baby who lives at our house and he runs the show.  He has taken over my favorite chair and every morning I wake up to find him lounged out with his head on a pillow!  Cooper is my Golden Retriever and he loves to make himself at home on my furniture!

Ultimate Comfort

As you may have read earlier, this month the DT was challenged to use the word "comfort" on a layout.  Well, with a lazy beagle in the house, it wasn't hard to find pictures for this challenge!!

I used the B side of the new Wrestling paper (#1336) and Football paper (#1324).  I then added some paw print stamps and a few embellishments and well...don't the pictures say it all?  LOL

Sketch-er-riffic!

I am just LOVING the Sketch that Lucy Chesna created for us to use in our sketch contest this month. (Check out all the details of the contest HERE!!)  Her sketches are so versatile!  I flip-flopped a few of the elements and used one photo, and POOF!  I have a great layout that I love and, more importantly, my son loves!  Getting a shirt with a number on it was so important to him!  His daddy's first jersey number was #22, and it's been his "lucky number" ever since.   So, Colby couldn't wait to get his new lucky number!

First High School Win....PRICELESS

I just LOVE sketches and this one from Lucy at My Sketch World was no different.  I choose to replace the two photos with a photo collage I made on my computer to capture my daughters first High School Soccer Win.  I was able to combine some of the Scrappin' Sports & More custom paper with some from the Down on the Farm Line to make a perfect match to our school colors.  What are you going to create with Lucy's sketch?  Remember, you just have to link your layout to our blog and you could win the Entire Calender Line.

Comfort

What brings comfort in life? That was the question I asked myself this week as I started work on this layout.  The obvious answers to me were those I love most, my husband, kids, family.  But I wanted to do something different than that with this layout.  Then I thought about the peace and serenity I feel when I enter my bedroom after a long day.  Ok, that brings me comfort.  I'll focus on that.  So I went about taking some photos.  When it came time to print the photos I realized the majority of the things that make me feel good and keep me grounded are items either made by my grandmother or skills she taught me.... the lace doilies she crocheted, the pillowcases she tatted the edging on, the cross stitch she taught me, and the quilts she was always working on - those things and thoughts of her have brought me comfort this week.

I hope you find comfort in your life, no matter what form it takes.

Tee Ball Mini Album!!

Anyone who knows me will hit the floor when I announce that I MADE A MINI ALBUM!  There are those that never thought they'd see the day!  But, I did it and I almost dare to say that I am hooked!  I saw the cutest chipboard album that was in the shape of a baseball cap at a local scrapbook store's going out of business sale. ( So sad to see another LSS close... ) When I saw the album, it screamed "Scrappin' Sports and More" at me!  So, I printed out the photos of my son's tee ball season, covered the pages mostly with the new "Sports Head On" papers, added some Scrappin' Sports and More Cardstock Stickers, added a few captions and a little bit-o-journaling and BAM- I actually did it!  So, here you go!

comfort over style

For the month of September, each Scrappin' Sports & More Design Team Member is going to create a layout using the word 'comfort' in the title.

I decided to use comfort over style as my title in this layout of my son - he is his own fashion statement sometimes. :)
I just love that he made the effort to put on a hat, gloves & boots but not a coat or long pants after a spring snow storm in March 2010.

Scrappin' Made Easy

Now that school is in full swing as well as all the extra curricular activities, I find myself with less time in my day; which is one of the reasons I Love the new Sports Head On line.  I'm sure many of you can relate.  I absolutely love the Watersports Paper and wanted to showcase it in this layout.  I kept the layout really simple... a couple of pictures, a couple of rub-ons and a few journaling strips was all it took to put this together.  So... the next time your short on time, grab some of this paper and start scrappin!

I'm Loving You...

August is a month full of celebrations at our house, especially birthdays.  One of those birthday's belongs to by husband, David.  We have spent over 25 years together as a couple - more than half my life and I can't imagine anything different.  We have been through so much over the years, both good and bad, but the constant is my love for him.  Pretty sappy, huh?  It's true though -- I love him 24/7, 12 months a year!

Here Fishy, Fishy!

This is one of my favorite photos of my little man.  He was about three years old and when my parents lived on a lake, he LOVED to go fishing with his Papa.  When I saw the Fishing paper in the new Sports Head On line, I knew just the photo I needed to use it with!  I used the back side of the papers for the blue background and then cut the bobbers out for the perfect accent to the page!

It's Feeling Like Fall

As much as I hate to see summer go, I am looking forward to the cooler evenings and beautiful colors of fall in the midwest.

Today I'm sharing a layout using the September Calendars Made Easy paper and September Cardstock Sticker that coordinates with the paper.  I was able to snap some pictures of my cousin's grandson not long ago and I love how this paper is a perfect compliment!

Space...the final frontier

Thought I would share a layout from our recent trip to the Wright-Patterson Air Force Museum.  I just can't get enough of our CUSTOM papers.  And with the new website...you will even have the ability to SEE your designs BEFORE they are printed!  Now how cool is THAT???

This was truly a fun and educational trip for us and I even got a chance to use up some of my scraps when making the paper pieced planet on the layout.  With a bunch of circles and a little ink...instant embellishment and very little cost!!  So the question is...if you were designing a custom paper...what would it be??
