Whe we were visiting relatives this past summer, we caught the bus right next to the go-kart track. We told the kids if we didn't spend too much time in town that we would take a ride when we were done. As you can see, we had plenty of time for racing. It was pricey, but a lot of fun :) Scrappin' Sports has some really wonderful racing papers & stickers. It was fun to finally get to use them.

Sketch-er-riffic!
I am just LOVING the Sketch that Lucy Chesna created for us to use in our sketch contest this month. (Check out all the details of the contest HERE!!) Her sketches are so versatile! I flip-flopped a few of the elements and used one photo, and POOF! I have a great layout that I love and, more importantly, my son loves! Getting a shirt with a number on it was so important to him! His daddy's first jersey number was #22, and it's been his "lucky number" ever since. So, Colby couldn't wait to get his new lucky number!

Start Your Engines
Nothing like having a birthday at a Go-Kart Track!! And nothing like having RACING paper and rub-ons to document it! Top it off with Custom Birthday Paper...and you have the perfect ingredients for a fun layout!! The hardest part was accepting that my daughter wanted a Teddy Bear birthday cake for her Racing themed party!!

For the "Handy Man"....
My dad is the ultimate "handy man," always puttering and fixing. So, what better Father's Day card than a card that looks like a measuring tape? I made a simple box out of black cardstock and then decorated it with my Scrappin' Sports & More papers. I cut two strips of the Racing Paper (yellow), put them together end to end, marked the "ruler marks" and stamped "lots and lots, and lots, and lots...." on it. It's actually almost two feet long when it's pulled out. I also rolled up some of the Cheering Paper (gray) and attached it to the tape as a little handle to pull on. We will sign the back before giving it to him!

Racing Thank You Cards
Since my son had his 9th birthday party at a local Go-Kart racing place, I thought it would be fun to make his Thank You cards from Scrappin' Sports & More's Racing Game paper and Checkered Flags cardstock stickers.

For three of the cards (for Grandparents), I used Racing Game paper as the background, layered with two of the Checkered Flag cardstock stickers, stamped 'thank you' on the yellow side of the Racing game paper and added a red brad. Easy & Fun!

For the boys that attended the party, I used these old photo cards to add a photo of each boy riding in his Go-Kart, stamp 'thank you' and then added two Checkered Flag stickers on the inside.

Themed Papers
You can quickly and easily create a layout by using themed papers. Here I only used three double-sided papers to create a layout with many layers. I cut out the elements that I wanted to highlight such as the title, the flags and the red, yellow & green stripe then I used larger parts of the patterned papers such as the flag pattern and the definition. I added some die cut letters, three brads and a journaling tag ... this was a very fast and easy layout to create with minimal supplies.
