be Bold.

Ahhh, that son of mine is full of personality and he isn't afraid to express it!  Last week before his baseball game, he swapped out his baseball cleats shoe laces for his running shoes shoe laces - yes neon pink and neon green!  I just love that he is so sure of himself!

It's Baseball Season!!

Colby's been waiting 9 months for baseball season to come around again!  Even though six of his eight games have been rained out so far, he's still excited and has even been practicing in the garage!  Since he has his pictures taken each season, I decided I might as well make a frame to keep them in.  The "The sport is..." line makes it easy to make frames for any sport!

I started with a basic wooden frame that I got for $1.00 at a craft store and inked the edges black.  Then I covered the frame with the baseball paper.  I put the rubons onto some smooth, white cardstock and cut them out.  Finally, I inked the edges of some corrugated letters and an acrylic star and attached everything to the frame using glue or foam dots.  I think it came out cute!

All I Really Need to know about Life, I Learned Playing Soccer!

I created a fun mini album about my son playing soccer and while I was trying to decide how to do it, it occurred to me how many life lessons there are in soccer- or any sport, for that matter.  So, I used several different SS&M soccer papers, some SS&M Soccer Rubons, some black chipboard for the pages and some book rings and it came together quickly!

Three time Super Bowl Champs!

Here is my take on the sketch for this month!

My son's football team has gone to the Super Bowl all four years, however they lost in 2009.  Winning three Super Bowls in four years is quite the accomplishment for any team!

Baseball Teammates

I love capturing photos of the boys on my son's sports teams bonding - I caught this great shot of the boys in the dugout during their play-off double header games last spring ... once they saw me in the dugout with the camera they couldn't squeeze together quick enough to be in the photo! :)

I decided to keep this layout simple by using one of my all time Scrappin' Sports & More paper lines - Reflections; I love the simplicity of the reflection side and I am a sucker for the side with words.  This paper line makes a great addition to any sports page!

Keeping Goal!

My son is playing his first year of soccer with the town rec league (as you may be able to tell by all the soccer layouts!) and he's loving every minute of it.  He's super aggressive and wants to be where ever the ball is.  Well, every player has to do their time playing goal.  He gets excited to be playing goalie, until the game wanders down to the other end of the field.  I was watching him try to stay focused on the game and when he struck this pose, I knew just what to do with the photo!  And, I'm super lucky to have access to all of these fabulous Scrappin' Sports and More soccer papers and embellishments to play with!!

SAFE!

Several years ago when my son started baseball and they spent an entire practice learning how to slide, take a lead and dive back to the base - my son felt like he hit the jackpot!

Could it be that an adult was teaching him how to slide?  Could it be that the same woman who complains about holes in the jeans during their second wear would be cheering for him to slide in the dirt?!  Could it be that the numerous practice pants and game pants never get a raised eyebrow but the jeans and athletic pants get lectures ... then the decision in a boy's 6 year old mind was made that baseball was his game!

Journaling:
I often joke that you love to slide in baseball because I cannot complain about the dirt or the holes in your pants.  It's no surprise that you have perfected your slide!  Sept 2010
