Waiting for Daddy

I am sure that these photos are not new to many of you.  Our pets show such love for us.  Delta will wait forever by the back door waiting for her Daddy to come inside.  She will sit and whimper if he takes too long.  And then...once that door opens....she is just a wiggly mess.  LOL  We are so fortunate to be able to be shown this unconditional love by our pets.

It may be hard to tell but I curled strips of the blue stripped paper to create some flowers in the left hand corner of the layout.  I also roughed up the sides of my two background papers.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful day and hug those faithful pets!

I hope you dance...

I hope it's not too cliche to use this song title for yet another ballet scrapbook page...

I love the meaning behind the words...as well as the obvious statement it makes, and this photo of my daughter was so fitting, especially in her pointe shoes...Last year she was forced to choose between cheer and pointe class...so she went to the director of the dance studio to ask her what other options she had and they allowed her to take a lower level of dance class, completely on pointe (a full 1/2 hour longer than her regular class and all floor work)..this was so NOT easy for her, but she was totally commited and stuck to it and in the end was so much more advanced for all her efforts.  I am so proud of her for making the choice to NOT sit it out...

"When you get the choice to sit it out or dance...DANCE!"

What's up Buttercup?

Every time we go to Arkansas to visit my sister in law, the kids are excited to go visit the horse, Buttercup, that lives next door. She is a very nice horse and enjoys the carrots she receives from my kids very much. It's hard not to stop and snap a picture because she is truly a very beautiful horse.

I have to say that it is very handy that Scrappin Sports & More also carries animal paper, so I always have plenty of horse-related paper and embellishments to use when I am in the mood to scrap some pictures of our dear Buttercup.

Boo!

I know, it's still way to early to be thinking about the holidays, but really Halloween is just 41 days away! The boys started talking today about costumes and such and it got me thinking. With a little bit of time on my hands today, I decided to start planning ahead --- well, at least a little bit. I went through all my fun Scrappin' Sports & More scraps and pulled out all the colors that reminded me of Halloween. These are the papers I used:

School is Cool - #1358 - 2nd Grade
School is Cool - #1359 - 3rd/4th Grades
Title Sports - #1384 - Wrestling
Title Sports - #1375 - Hockey
Title Sports - #1370 - Cross Country
Down on the Farm - #1291 - Cats
Family & More - #1275 - Cousins
Family & More - #1276 - Niece

Here is what I created with my scraps:

I am 2 cards closer to being ready for the holidays!

Prima Ballerina!

I am always on the lookout for things that I can recycle in my scrapbooking.  We switched laundry soap last week and began to use an all in one soap & laundry sheet.  These go in the washing machine with the clothes and then directly into the dryer with them too.  They serve double duty.

When I pulled them out of the dryer, I knew instantly that they would serve triple duty!  They are nice and thick and the perfect absorbing material for misting!

The first thing I did was pull out my misting box and lay a couple of them flat on the bottom.  Using my mists, I saturated them in various colors:

I dried these with my heat gun (because I am a very impatient scrapper!).  Remember to keep your gun at a safe distance as the intense heat will start to melt the sheet.

Then I ran them through my Cuttlebug and made these:

I ended up using the back sides of the flowers for my design --- just really liked the variegated look of the back:

The Wild, Wild West

We recently spent a week in sunny Arizona - what a welcome and warm relief from the cold of a midwest winter!  While there we spent time sightseeing in Tombstone and a day at Old Tucson Studios.  Spending time at these places brought back memories from my childhood, spending time with my dad - a guy that loved watching "shoot 'em up" westerns on tv.  It was fun to see where old episodes of Bonanzo were filmed as well as movies like Rio Bravo and McClintock.

When I arrived at my son's football game this past fall and saw one of his teammate's dogs wearing a team jersey I just had to get a shot of him!!

This photo worked so well with so many of Scrappin' Sports & More's lines!!  I used the brand new line "The Sport is ..." with  "Classic Football" added in some "Down on the farm - dogs" and topped it off with some custom 'good dog' paper!  I love mixing & matching lines like this!

CHA -- the Craft & Hobby Association's trade show is only about 10 days away and that means some fun new papers coming your way from Scrappin' Sports & More!  I love to created with bright and cheerful papers and the new Swimming Paper is perfect for that!  Now we all love to swim at my house but Cooper loves it the most by far!  LOL --- he is a golden retriever after all!

Isn't that paper fun?  The background paper is from the Down on the Farm line --- perfect for  coordinating backgrounds!  I love that both sides are so much fun and coordinate so well.  In addition, the colors are a perfect match for the past swimming lines so they go great together!  Here is another design using this line:

Happy Birthday Toby

Our family dog recently celebrated his 16th birthday!  I will have to admit parenting a teenage dog is a lot like parenting teenage children. Both want to be independent, but both still need their mama!  Today I'm sharing a few photos taken of Toby this fall.

When SS&M first came out with their Down on the Farm line last year I knew this dog paper would be getting a lot of use in my house.  With it's brown and cream tones and the coordinating solid on the back side and the coordinating stickers... well, perfect for Toby pictures!

Thanks for looking.

Begging Burros

One of our favorite stops on our South Dakota road trip was in Custer State Park to see the Begging Burros!  If we would have had more food for them we would have stayed all day - but they quickly ate the two loaves of bread we brought for them and a box of graham crakers!  At one point we had eight burros around our car! The white one at my window would nibble on my coat if I didn't feed him fast enough!

Lots of photos...

Do you ever go on a field trip or vacation and have a ton of pictures that you want to scrap?  For my daughter's field trip, I had a bunch and I just didn't want to narrow it down any further, so I went old school and added them all!!

Scrappin Sports & More has an AWESOME Down on the Farm line of papers that are perfect for those heritage or "back in time" kinds of pictures.  The field trip was of Souder Village, which takes place in the early 1900s.

Custom papers, etc.

Do you have a favorite sports team, school, etc.?  Scrappin Sports and More has an amazing line of custom papers...you can choose the words and colors to really make your layouts yours

Here, I used a custom paper along with an older baseball line and our new sports stickers to highlight our town baseball team...the Fort Wayne Tin Caps.

But you don't have to stop there...Scrappin Sports & More even has a way to add flair to our regular Sports On Fire line...see the name in the flames?  Does your team have a mascot?  Scrappin Sports & More might even have that covered...here I used the Horse paper to go with my Colts layout!!  Thanks to My Sketch World for the inspiration for this layout!!

So what custom papers can you think up??  Check out the website and start making your own today!!

Sweet Scarecrow!

I love this time of year -- the temps are falling, the leaves are dropping and the kids are gearing up for the harvest party at church.  I love the effort that they put into their costumes!  Luke the scarecrow - this is one of my all time favorites!

1st Day of School

We got our dog on the last day of school, so for 3 months she had the kids home everyday.  She did not know what to do with herself on the first day of school.  She went from room to room, flopping down on the floor and sighing.  Luckily now, she has learned the routine :)

I love the motion that the Sports Head On line brings to the page.  I cut the socccer balls out of the paper and used them to draw the eye to my main photo.  I paired it with some custom paper & the blue from the Four H paper.  It was perfect for our school colors.

We have an 85 pound baby who lives at our house and he runs the show.  He has taken over my favorite chair and every morning I wake up to find him lounged out with his head on a pillow!  Cooper is my Golden Retriever and he loves to make himself at home on my furniture!

Scrappin' Sports & More paper is perfect for all things music!  I love the new papers from the Sports Head On Series - so versatile!  Love the focus and determination on my son's face in these photos!
