Super Bowl Champs!

About a week ago, my son's football team finished up another undefeated season including a Super Bowl win!   My layout features several great SSM lines, which I always love to mix & match!

This is my last post for SSM - I want to thank everyone at SSM for having me as part of their team these last few years, I have truly enjoyed being a part of this amazing family!!  I also want to thank SSM's fans and followers for making SSM such a success and if you were local to SSM, I hope you stocked up on goodies at their warehouse sale!

Scrolling through my blog posts here at SSM, I couldn't pick just a few favorites as so many important moments for my family are here on this blog - so if you have some time you can check out my SSM projects from the past few years. :)

Love this game

For several years now Victoria has been in love with all things soccer.  She plays pretty much year round and when she isn't playing it we are watching it on tv.  I have to say that her passion for the game has rubbed off on me too.  I absolutely love going to the games and watching her play.  My hope is that she will continue to keep her foot on the ball long after high school is finished.

I love that I was able to get 5 photos on one page and you can still see all the action of the game.  I love the combination of the red, blue & green from the SS&M papers.  And while the zebra print is a neutral, I love how it pulls everything together.

I love this game {football}

whooo - whooo!  I love everything about football season - the cool, crisp air of fall, NFL football and of course my son's football games and team gatherings!

Here I was trying to get a "game face" photo of my son, but I ended up with a fantastic one of him laughing!

Scrappin' Cards

I love using my left over scraps of SS&M papers for cards.  Quite often I am creating a card on the fly. That so many of the SS&M lines have complimenting color schemes makes it so easy to pull together a nice card quickly.

My first card is chocked full of baseball goodness.  Scott & his Dad are big Red Sox fans so the red, white and blue color scheme is perfect for them.  I made this card as a Father's Day Card for my FIL, but really, it could just as easily been given for a birthday card.

I did a little bit of distressing on the edges of the paper and crinkled the Dymo "happy" for a bit of depth.  The star is die cut using my Sizzix star dies and some corrugated cardboard.

Supplies:
Name Of The Game
Baseballs paper (#1255)
Girls Rule
Gymnastics paper (#1391)

"Hugs & Kisses" is filled with scraps from the "Title Sports" line.  I am putting it away for when Lily goes away to soccer camp this summer.  It will be her first time going to overnight camp and I want her to know that we are missing her while she is gone.

Supplies:
Title Sports
Cross Country paper (#1370)
Tennis paper  (#1381)
Homecoming paper (#1376)
Girls Rule
Homecoming/Prom paper (#1392)
Sporty Words
Volleyball paper (#1407)

We would love to see what you make for cards using SS&M papers.  Feel free to share on the Scrappin' Sports & More Facebook Page

Hey Batter by Julie

I know many of my friends are right in the middle of baseball season, so I am very happy to showcase this wonderful layout created by our June guest designer Julie Rainbolt.  Julie has a very distinct style and loves to outline her papers and embellishments with black cardstock.  I think on this layout it really makes the individual papers stand out.  Look at that adorable smile :)

Thanks For Making Me Wiser!

I was so happy to be inspired to make this cute owl 3-d card from a paper bag owl I saw on Pinterest yesterday. I needed a quick teacher gift and this was just the thing!  The inside is filled with a bag of smarties.

Before I wrote this post, I went through all great projects my fellow designers had created on the Scrappin' Sports & More Blog over the last few weeks.  Clearly I was none the wiser to the super cute owl card Shannon shared with us a couple of weeks ago.  How cute is her owl!!
Hopefully one of us inspired you to use your left over scraps of Scrappin' Sports & More basketball and football papers to create a cute owl!

S is for Star

I love all the different colored star prints in the "Title Sports" line.  The Football (#1372) paper was a perfect color and print choice to create a home decor project with my grandson in mind.

I had an idea to use the concept of an old fashioned alphabet flashcard as the base of framed art for Chase's room.

I designed and printed the flashcard on my printer.  I used some Sizzix star dies to create the stars.  The larger star uses the Football (#1399) from "Sporty Words."  To give the smaller star some dimension I scored each tip of the star, folded along the score lines and then popped it with a PopDot. Once the flashcard was finished, I double mounted it on teal cardstock and more of the "Sporty Words" Football paper.

I used the scraps from the flashcard framed art for this card....

Meet Our Newest Guest Designer Jill Utrup!!

Today it is our privilege to introduce you to our next guest designer Jill Utrup.  I am really excited to show you some of Jill's work, but first a little about Jill.

Hi, my name is Jill Utrup and I am so excited to be a guest designer for Scrappin' Sports.  I have been scrapbooking for over 13year now.  I am a single mother of three children 2 girls 17 and almost nine and a boy who is 13.  My children participate in soccer, football, basketball, 4H, FFA, and choir.

I love the SSM lines!  Each new introduction brings new ideas and ways to use them for my children. I also love to take papers and use them for non traditional uses such as cards or mini albums. I love to brighten someone’s day even if he/she are suffering in a bad situation.  It lets them know someone is thinking of them.

This is the cheer paper and soccer paper.  The title is too big on the 12x12 paper to fit on one 8 1/2 x 11 page.  So by cutting it up and matting it I utilized the wonderful lettering.

Huntin' Dogs

When I saw this new line of paper, I thought to myself...nice, but I don't hunt anything. Then I heard the distant sounds of my beagles yelping at the squirrel in the back yard. I may not hunt, but they sure do...I own HUNTIN' DOGS!

So here is a layout to showcase my howling hunters! Aren't they cute?

2008 Baseball Team

Lately I have become obsessed with reorganizing my scrapbook albums, I have decided to put each sports season into it's own album and I LOVE IT!  I can browse my photos from a particular season as I flip through the album to see if I have scrapped it or not.  Sadly, it seems more of the photos aren't scrapped - I will slowly catch up. :)

Here is a layout using SSM's FANTASTIC new winter Lines!  I love this big baseball on the Sporty Words paper!  This is perfect for my son's first baseball team photo from May 2008!

Soccer Playoffs

I love to watch Lily in motion.  Whether it be soccer, swim, or dance, she is fun to watch. She is such a sprite. Small and fast and graceful.

For this layout, I use both sides of the Soccer paper (#1405) from the new "Sporty Words" line.  I played on the big "Soccer" at the bottom for my title work.  The big soccer ball is handcut from the other side of the same paper.  The little soccer balls, Soccer Balls Cardstock Stickers (#5530), are mounted on black cardstock. I gave them some dimension by using PopDots for height.

Ready for some Softball?

Nothing makes me feel better when the weather gets cold than to scrap about warmer times! As I scrapped this page, I could think about the warm sun beaming down on my neck as I watched my daughter, Bailee, play.

The right and left page of this layout are the A and B sides of the new Sporty Words paper (plus an oldie, but a goodie). It is so nice when you can use both sides of the paper. By cutting out the word "softball", my title matched the colors on the left side perfectly, allowing for a cohesive 2 page layout!

Bronco Fans

This season no one expected the Denver Broncos to make it to the play-offs, but they did and what a game it was! Even though the temps were very cold due to snow the day before, it was worth it!  This game will be remembered for years!

In this layout, I mixed SSM's custom papers with the new winter release Sporty Words and thew in some orange stars patterned paper from the School is Cool line - love how they look together!
