It's Game Time!!!

My kids LOVE to play board games together!  So, when I saw this paper, I knew just what I needed to do with it!  The paper is super fun, and the rub-ons are perfect for the occasion!  And the primary colors are perfect for scrapping kids!

Be Thankful

I came across this poem online and I thought that it was an incredible lesson for my children on the simple things in life that they should be thankful for- things that they might not always remember to be thankful for.  I paired it with this great photo of them together and these beautiful papers from Scrappin' Sports & More and this layout came together.  Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

This month, the Design Team has been sharing layouts using the word "Comfort" title.  It took me a little while to find direction with this challenge and then the photo and the paper just came together for me.  All my life I have worked toward bettering myself and have lived by the words, "If you are going to do it, then give it 110%."  In taking some time to reflect, I realize that I am comfortable being ME.  I am a mom to two great kids, a teacher to wonderful middleschoolers, I have surrounded myself with great friends and I get to spend my spare time doing a hobby that I love.  Even though I still have room to grow, I am comfortable with myself.

When I saw this paper from the "Young and Active Seasons" line, I knew that I wanted to find a way to pop those gorgeous butterflies off the page.  So, I cut out the butterflies from a second piece of paper and glued just the middle down right on top of the existing butterfly.  Then, I bent the wings up to give the page dimension which gabve this already beautiful paper, a beautiful effect.

Frolicking in the Sun

My dog loves to play and frolick around in the backyard, especially in the summer when the grass is lush, green and soft.  The summer paper from the Young & Active Seasons line were a perfect choice for displaying Toby's playfulness in the summer sun.

Mixing and matching the colors and styles of the various papers always produces amazing results.  Don't be afraid to try it - you'll have fun and love the results!

Hope you all have a great summer!

Bring on Summer Vacation!!!

Living in the Midwest, summer is special because we don't have warm weather all year 'round.  So when we get warm weather...it is swimming pools and parks!!  One of the main reasons I fell in love with Scrappin Sports and More is because of their Young and Active line.  It's an older line...but a staple in my collection!  A perfect collection to document all my favorite park pictures!!  If you haven't checked it out...make sure you do!!

Gardening: We Dig It!

I created this layout for May's Project 12 Challenge.  I used the left side of the two-page sketch and made a layout about planting our garden.  Every May we plant vegetable and herbs in our two raised bed gardens in our back yard.  This was our third year doing it and we love planting and tending our garden together as a family!

They Call Me Mom

With Mother's Day right around the corner, I had thought about doing a layout about my own mother as well as one about myself.  But, since my kids are so much more photogenic than either my mom or myself... well, once again they became the focus of yet another one of my scrapbook pages.  This is a photo that was taken over the holidays and remains one of my favorites of them.

When those special family moments occur make sure to reach for Scrappin' Sports and More's Family line of papers to preserve those memories.  I used the Mother/Mom paper on this layout incorporating the word Mom (that's already printed on the paper) into my title - quick, easy and looks great!

Spring Flowers

Tulip Time.  That's always the first thing I think of when I think of spring.  My family is of Dutch heritage, so spring always meant a trip to Mom's hometown in northwest Iowa for it's annual Tulip Festival, wooden shoes, the cleaning of the streets, and the daily parade - what wonderful memories.  Unfortunately, I haven't been back for the festival in a number of years, but I still love tulips.

Here's my take on a spring-y layout - Toby in the Tulips.

The Scrappin' Sports and More Young & Active Seasons paper and stickers sure made this layout quick and easy do, with a lot of fun colors!  Hope you like it too.

A Minor Adjustment!

Project 12 is a fabulous challenge and a great way to document a month in review. But, I have to admit that I struggle just a bit. There are months when I carry my camera everywhere and am able to capture on print the true highlights of the month. But, there are also months, that my crazy busy schedule keeps me from taking any pictures at all. So, what is the best way for me to utilize these great sketches and fun challenges?

I just made a minor adjustment for myself! And you know what? That is the beauty of the challenge. You can use that fabulous sketch in any way that works for you! You can use the sketch for any subject, document your month without the sketch or do any of the options in between! With that said -- here is my layout documenting an everyday moment using the right side of the 2page sketch for inspiration!

I am the mom of 2 very active children (Bailee and Logan) that keep me busy, but give me lots of opportunities to scrap! I am also married to Shane. We all live in Fort Wayne, Indiana with our 2 beagles, Annee and Jenny.

Here are a couple of layouts created by Shannon.  First up is this adorable layout of her kids.  It is just perfect with the Family Line brother & sister paper.
