For my husband, Football Season is the happiest season of the year. No matter the weather, no matter the team, he is happiest if he's watching football. And while usually, he's playing armchair quarterback, occasionally, he gets the opportunity to go see a "real game". Two weeks ago, he was invited to go see a BYU preseason game and he jumped at the opportunity. Never mind that we live in Southern California...lol and usually BYU is playing the team we usually root for... he made a special business trip to visit a client in Utah just so he could also attend the game. And while he was there, he happily texted me photos of himself and the stadium so that I could scrap this memory for him.
I added the pocket to the page so that he can save his ticket in there and journal on the tags about his experience at his first "home" BYU game...it's a great way to save memorabilia without creating an element on the page with it. I fussy cut the title from the "Title Sports" paper and added pop dotted footballs inside the "o"s for a little dimension. I chose to keep the rest of the page pretty simple because all of the patterned paper really kept the eye moving on the page. Hope he likes the page and it is a nice reminder of his quick trip to Utah!

Backstroke
The backstroke is Lily's least favorite event in swimming,
yet she is so graceful, so powerful.
I played on the yellow of Lily's swim cap by using the yellow dotted Gymnastics paper from
the Sports and Activities line. To create the half scallops in the same paper I used a punch
by Epiphany Crafts with the coordinating epoxy stickers and then cut them in half.

Please welcome Lynette Daniel, the newest SS&M Designer!!!
Scrappin' Sports & More is very excited to announce our newest designer to the team Lynette Daniel. She was our first Guest Designer and we loved her work so much we couldn't wait to ask her to stay on full time. She said YES!!!
For those of you who may not know Lynette, here is a little about our newest designer.
Lynette Daniel is a widow and has two beautiful children. She owns Scrap That Moment, Central Illinois' largest scrapbooking store. She is a talented photographer, graphic designer and has been a nationally published scrapper since 2003. Lynette has had the privilege of working with over 20 scrapbooking manufacturers and is thrilled to design for Scrappin' Sports & More. In Lynette's spare time she coaches in city programs for kids, sponsors local sports teams, and photographs and writes editorials for different IL newspapers.
Here is Lynette's debut design called "Go Long."
#1415 Football
Lynette hand drew and painted the tiger paw onto the new Sports & Activities Football paper. We love the way she worked her son Zach's team colors of grey & blue into the collage. You are not going to believe how Lynette made the flowers- it is sports athletic gauze tape! She fashioned it in and around itself and used a little distress ink to match the tough grunge background.
I am sure you will be as thrilled as we are to have her part of the SS&M family. Her designs are fresh and very creative.
Welcome again, Lynette!!!

The Big "C"!
Yep.... literally a BIG C! I got a giant chipboard "C" a while back. I was going to use it for something else, but didn't receive all of the letters I needed. So, it went into my stash destined to stay there for a good long time. In moving my piles of stuff back and forth, the big "C" ended up on top of my box of Scrappin' Sports goodies and I decided that my son needed a new sign for his bedroom door! And, off I went!
His favorite color is red, so I started there. There's a perfect RED dot paper included in the new "Sports & Activities" line! I traced the "C" on the red paper and cut it out.

Then, I adhered the paper to the C, added a ribbon to the back, and put some alphas stickers from deep within my stash along the bottom. Then, my son's favorite part.... I used some black embroidery floss and some cardstock stickers. I put one with the sticky side up, placed the floss down, and then put another sticker on top creating a "sticker sandwich." That way if the sports balls spin while he is opening and closing his door, they will still look good. Then, I adhered the floss to the back of the "C" and trimmed the ends. Finally, I took down the old sign and hung the new one.

I hope you dance...
I hope it's not too cliche to use this song title for yet another ballet scrapbook page...
I love the meaning behind the words...as well as the obvious statement it makes, and this photo of my daughter was so fitting, especially in her pointe shoes...Last year she was forced to choose between cheer and pointe class...so she went to the director of the dance studio to ask her what other options she had and they allowed her to take a lower level of dance class, completely on pointe (a full 1/2 hour longer than her regular class and all floor work)..this was so NOT easy for her, but she was totally commited and stuck to it and in the end was so much more advanced for all her efforts. I am so proud of her for making the choice to NOT sit it out...

She had an awards breakfast and was kind enough to let me take one quick picture of her with her prize! Now that most students are back in the groove of school, I thought it would be appropriate to share a Kindergarten layout I did for my youngest. Two wonderful layouts from Guest Designer Lana Day
Again today I get to share not one but two wonderful layouts from our August Guest Designer Lana Day. As summer starts to come to a close, it's fun to look back and scrap those great memories. It seems the kids always have the biggest smiles when in the water and you can tell by the photos just how much fun these two are having! I love the little turquoise brads that she used to add some movement to this page.

Make a Splash!!
Even though we are back to school already, with the temps still in the 90's we feel like it's still summer, so I'm happily scrapping pics from summer (while enjoying the nice cool air conditioning in my scrap room!). Today I am using the Sports Head on Watersports paper and the new Sports and Activities Swimming paper to scrap a few pictures of my daughter enjoying our friend's pool.
I fussy cut the waves and bubbles from the Watersports paper, then used the wave as a template to create the wave cut on the swimming paper. I added some splashes of glimmer mist in the background and some stickles on the the bubbles for some bling then topped it off with a few rhinestones, too. A quick and easy, multiphoto page that came together in under an hour...just how I like them!

Bagging It Times Two!
Decorating paper bags for gift giving is one of my favorite
ways to present a gift. You can decorate the bag just like
you would a card, in the style of the person you are giving the gift.
Lily went to a birthday party this weekend for two dear friends.
They just happen to be twins.
Twins with two completely different looks, styles, and personalities.
I kept that in mind when decorating their gift bags.
Bri's gift bag is streamlined with summery colors & a matching layered flower.

Bai's gift bag is a bit busier & is accented with pops of pink washi tape & butterflies.

I Pledge Allegiance...
Hey there, everyone!
Today's project was inspired by a card design that I saw on Pintrest. What a wonderful place to find inspiration! I used the basic design of the card that I saw and created a wall hanging.
First, I cut the side off of a cardboard box and trimmed it to the size I wanted. Then I dug through my Scrappin' Sports stash to find just the right papers. And, sure enough- I did!! The Preschool and Kindergarten papers from the "School is Cool" collection are the perfect colors for this flag project!
Products Used:
#1355- School is Cool: Preschool (red)
#1356- School is Cool: Kindergargen (blue)

Wardrobe malfunction
Nothing is worse when you are on the swim team than when you lose your goggles. Luckily, this only happened to my son once this season, but when it did, he just kept swimming til he reached the end of the race. Mom, of course, was there with the camera to document!!

Always in our Hearts
My mom wanted something to auction off at the family reunion and I knew the perfect thing to do. I had pinned this wonderful inspiration piece from the Studio Calico blog. My picture was not the best quality as it was taken many years ago and faded. I scanned it in and printed it fairly small, therefore I choose to use an 8 in. by 8 in. frame. I used the side B papers from a couple of the Scrappin' Sports lines and here is the result. The butterflies are brads.

Worth The Wait?? Worth The Wait!!
This week I thoroughly enjoyed playing with the B sides of our new paper line.
I used them on a two-page spread of my sweet grandson and his birthday cupcake.
"Worth the Wait?" was created as my sample for this week's Helmar Live Ustream.
The focus of my Ustream class was simple distress techniques. SS&M are great
papers to distress because the distressing shows the wonderful second side of the paper.
"Worth The Wait!" is the layout I created on Helmar Live Ustream.
Scrappin' Sports & More Supplies:

"Worth The Wait?"
Fishing Paper (#1414) - B side: blue dotted paper
Wrestling Paper (#1431) - B side: red chevron paper
"Worth The Wait!"
Teeball Paper (#1427) - B side: teal/green striped paper
I have embedded the Helmar Live Ustream class from Tuesday in
which I create "Worth The Wait!" Hope you enjoy!

2 Great Baseball Layouts by Guest Designer Lana Day!
I am excited to share 2 wonderful baseball layouts created by this months guest designer Lana Day. I love how she cut up the baseball paper to use as her accents. The red white and blue stripes are a perfect backdrop for these pictures.
I love how she cut up the paper on this layout to add some fun movement to the page.

Summertime is Slurpee Time!
I'm sure you'll all agree that there is nothing better on a hot day than a cool drink...and sometimes, a Slurpee just fits the ticket of tasty and cold...mmm...
I had fun layering a bunch of new papers and this whimsical photo my daughter took of herself enjoying her slurpee...I used Summertime, Tennis and Pool papers with a pop of the Gymnastics stars for this bright and colorful look.
