I am really loving this new school line. As Karen showed yesterday, it's bright with fun colors but it's not just for elementary or high school. It can be used for those photos you have of your kids in college too! Here, I've used the Freshman paper on a college softball layout for my daughter. With the word freshman written along the edge of the paper worked perfectly as a border for this page.

It's hard to believe that another school year is almost over already. It seems like this picture was just taken a couple of weeks ago. Time sure does fly by quickly which is why it's important to get hese pictures scrapped! I am in love with the new School is Cool line from Scrappin' Sports & More. The colors are so fun and you can combine all of the grades for even more options.

Senior pictures
I had the pleasure of shooting this beautiful gal's senior pictures this past fall. When I found out SS&M would be coming out with a new school line, I was so excited and knew the paper would work wonderfully with photos of Jasey. I love that the high school papers are black with white writing. It makes it so easy to incorporate school colors for sports layouts as well as a bright color to compliment a photo as I did using the orange paper as the background in this layout.

Lots and lots of Baseball!
It's becoming a blur - the teams, the players, the games --- all one big blur about this time of year! As parents, we see over 10 games a week and sometimes they all just fade into one another! My solution --- take lots of photos! These photos from one of Chase's games last week are my favorite of the year so far. Love the intense look on his face!

First Grade
I feel like I am really accomplishing something with this new line of school papers! I am finally able to make a cohesive looking album of all of my kids' school photos and and adventures! And, they look fabulous! I'm having so much fun with the bright colors and fun patterns that this line has to offer.
Here, I scrapped my son's first grade school photo (isn't he cute?!). I used some of the Preschool paper as a background and had fun cutting up the "B" side of the First Grade paper to make journaling prompts about his year at school. I put the photo and journaling on the black cardstock to give it a look of a chalkboard (even though there's not a chalkboard to be found at his school!).
Products Used:

#1357- First Grade

Leprechaun Review...
OK, I know it's April, but I had to give a wrap up of the St. Patrick's Day festivities that go on at our house!! Every year we leave Lucky Charms out for our leprechaun. Normally, people tend to leave a trap, but my 9yo son is ethically opposed to the mistreatment of leprechauns! LOL So here it is...and here is my son with his gold truffles the leprechaun left for him!!

School is Cool!
Keeping up to date with our children's school pictures is always a task - we end up with mismatched pages over the years that never look quite right in an album together. One thing I like to do is create a small minibook that spans their whole school experience. Making it ahead of time keeps all the pages cohesive and makes adding photos super easy! The new Scrappin' Sports & More School is Cool line is perfect for this!
For this mini book, I kept it all very uniform and simple - just adding the basic paper and photo mats for each year of school from Preschool thru Graduation! All you need to do is add a few pictures that represent that year and you will have a wonderful keepsake! You can still scrapbook all those wonderful memories as pages too along the way - but the basics will be here in this book - guaranteed to look good together!
Here is a sampling of the inside pages:
For this book I used all the papers from the new School is Cool line!

No Hitter
Okay so maybe it's not technically pitching a no hitter but we will count it as one! :)
Journaling:
You came in as pitcher with one out and the bases loaded, you threw six strikes in a row to end the game! You were so excited as you ran off the field with your team! March 2011 (oh no! just realized my layout says March 2010 - lol - have to fix that! :) )

New School Line
I was so excited to work with the new School is Cool line from Scrappin' Sports & More. The younger grades have bright vibrant colors that just pop on the page. They also combine very well with each other, which makes picking out your paper for your layout very easy. I used 3 different grades in this layout...Fifth Grade, Kindergarten (blue) and First Grade (green).
You can check out the complete School is Cool line here.
Product Used:

Redefining Family Game Night!!
OK, I realize that traditionally Family Game Night was sort of a Hasbro activity complete with board games and perhaps some cards. However, times they are a changin'...so that is exactly what custom papers are for!!! I was able to add my phrase "Family Game Night" to the paper and add the colors of my choosing and viola!...

Prima Ballerina!
I am always on the lookout for things that I can recycle in my scrapbooking. We switched laundry soap last week and began to use an all in one soap & laundry sheet. These go in the washing machine with the clothes and then directly into the dryer with them too. They serve double duty.
When I pulled them out of the dryer, I knew instantly that they would serve triple duty! They are nice and thick and the perfect absorbing material for misting!
The first thing I did was pull out my misting box and lay a couple of them flat on the bottom. Using my mists, I saturated them in various colors:
I dried these with my heat gun (because I am a very impatient scrapper!). Remember to keep your gun at a safe distance as the intense heat will start to melt the sheet.
Then I ran them through my Cuttlebug and made these:
I ended up using the back sides of the flowers for my design --- just really liked the variegated look of the back:

Thinking Ahead
I was thinking about my mom today and decided to get a headstart on her Mother's Day card. The Calendars Made Easy-May paper is perfect for the occasion! The bright yellow flower pattern is springy, bright and works beautifully for what I wanted to do. I used my Cricut to cut out the word "mom" and used the negative space from the cut to make my card. I used the May paper as the background and to make the flower.
Products Used:
#1283 -Calendars Made Easy- May
To make the flower, simply punch out 6 circles. Make a small swipe of strong adhesive or put a small dot of quick drying glue (hot glue will work great, too!) onto one edge of 5 of the circles. Then, just pinch each circle to create a petal and hold until the glue dries. Once you have made 5 petals, glue them to the sixth circle. I added a button to the middle to complete my flower. Adding some ink to the edges would be a great addition, as well!
Thanks so much for stopping by! We'd love to see how you use your Calendars Made Easy papers. Leave us a comment and link us to your blog or gallery so we can see!

The Wild, Wild West
We recently spent a week in sunny Arizona - what a welcome and warm relief from the cold of a midwest winter! While there we spent time sightseeing in Tombstone and a day at Old Tucson Studios. Spending time at these places brought back memories from my childhood, spending time with my dad - a guy that loved watching "shoot 'em up" westerns on tv. It was fun to see where old episodes of Bonanzo were filmed as well as movies like Rio Bravo and McClintock.

Summer Concerts...
Can I just say that I am SICK of winter and ready for some summer weather? Spring would actually be ok, but Summer is calling me!!!
For this 2 page layout, I wanted to showcase the concert we went to last summer. This was the opening act for the Romantics (for all youu 80s music fans) and they totally ROCKED it!!
The chipboard stars are wrapped in the same masking tape as the border. I personally think the Scrappin Sports and more Music paper ROCKS and it totally helps that all the papers coordinate so well!!!
So here's to Summer! It's coming, right???

Working with Scraps!
I'm thrifty by nature - in fact, there is nothing that makes me happier than getting a bargain! I'm not just talking about when you have to buy something --- another way to be thrifty is to use what you have. This is the theory I apply to my scrappin'! I love to use my scraps and I my rule of thumb is "If it's big enough to stamp an image on, then it's a keeper!
Once in a while, my scraps start to take over my space. That is when I know that I need to get to work making some cards! I decide on a design and then I start mass producing them with any and all scraps that I have hanging around! Scrappin' Sports & More papers are perfect for doing this because all the paper lines have coordinating color families!

My All-Star
Hi, everyone!! I'm so excited for baseball season to start, that I decided to take a break from working on my calendar and play with the baseball paper from the new "The Sport Is..." line. The red in the paper is just fabulous and worked beautifully with my son's baseball photo from last year. And, the strip of baseballs is just a strip cut from the back side of the paper! Isn't it cool?! Colby truly is baseball's number one fan!
