June 2009 was the wettest month I have ever lived through! We spent the first three weeks of summer vacation looking out the window at the rain and wishing we could go out and play. One day, I gave the kids the OK to put on their ponchos and go out and play in the rain! They splashed and sloshed and laughed and played until they were soaked through and had a BLAST! Mother Nature might have made it wet and soggy outside, but we weren't going to let it dampen our spirits!
I got this wonderful photo of my kids that day, and I have been waiting for just the right opportunity to scrap it. Scrappin' Sports & More's August Calendar paper is PERFECT for this layout! Check out the super cute SUNS on the background paper!

Time Together
'Tis the season to be Thankful and I am most thankful for the time that we spend together as a family.
Both my husband and I are lucky enough to be able to volunteer at our son's school, with his sports (as a coach and as the team mom) as well as just hangin' out as a family ... when we look back we will surely treasure the time we spent together. I added my personal journaling on the back of the layout.

Reminiscing!
There is nothing I love more than going back in time and scrappin' pictures from when my kids were younger. Just one photo can hold so many wonderful memories and make me smile for hours! This photo did that for me. I was about 4 years ago and Jordan had just gotten home from a very wet and muddy soccer practice at the park behind our house. The phone rang and some of the girls decided to spend a few more minutes at the park in the mud --- of course Jordan was all for it! She put her cleats back on and headed back to the park. They must have slid and rolled in that mud for at least 30 minutes! I was thankful for one of the mom's taking this photo! This is Jordan all the way -- never afraid of doing what it takes for a little but of fun!

Texting...
Does anyone have a teenager like I do? Do you think their hands are permanently glued to their cellphones? Well, we decided (as any good scrapping mom would...) to document this in an impromtu photoshoot. Thanks to Becky Fleck at Pagemaps for this amazing sketch!!
What I really liked about this sketch was that I was able to use a lot of my scraps up. Don't we all have about a million of them? They are perfect for a die cut butterfly and a strip of paper here and there!!

Playing Center
My son has always played on the line in football, but this is his first season playing center - he is lovin' it!
I cut out the footballs of the New Sports Head On Football paper and pop-dotted them on top of another piece of Sports Head On Football paper - love the effect!

I'm getting into the Holiday Mood....
....and the December Calendars Made Easy paper makes it SO easy! I picked up a cone shaped piece of floral foam at the dollar store and cut my December paper into 1/2" strips and then into 2 1/2" pieces. I folded them and stapled them and then attached them to my styrofoam cone. Before long, my cone became a Christmas tree! I added a ribbon at the top and some pretty pearls as ornaments. It's so easy, and so pretty!

Twister Anyone??
I just couldn't resist when Maddy asked for the Twister costume this year. I have many fond memories as a kid playing this game. Silly, simple fun...Love it!! I kept this layout simple and used the back side of the Racing Paper for my background. I love how Scrappin' Sports has paper for every occasion, if you just look :)

Fit by 50
After all these years I've come to the realization that I need to get in shape. So, I started walking..... 10,000 steps a day is the goal. To help document my journey from fat to fit, I'm using the newest sports line from SS&M, Sports Head On . As I was trying to decide what paper to use for this layout those shoes just jumped out at me and I knew the Cross Country paper would be perfect!
Thanks for looking!

Cards for You!
Instead of a layout, I decided to share some cards with you today. The Scrappin' Sports & More papers are fabulous to create cards with especially the Down on the Farm solids. I love the way they coordinate with all the other paper lines and the prominent color families!

More "Punkin" Carving!
My daughter always likes to put silly faces on her "punkin," while my son usually goes for the scary look. This year was no exception and she was very, very happy with how her "punkin" came out. Scrappin' Sports & More's October paper was perfect for scrapping her "punkin" carving adventure. She calls herself a "punkin artist!"

Baseball Teammates
I love capturing photos of the boys on my son's sports teams bonding - I caught this great shot of the boys in the dugout during their play-off double header games last spring ... once they saw me in the dugout with the camera they couldn't squeeze together quick enough to be in the photo! :)
I decided to keep this layout simple by using one of my all time Scrappin' Sports & More paper lines - Reflections; I love the simplicity of the reflection side and I am a sucker for the side with words. This paper line makes a great addition to any sports page!

Playing Catch-Up
I've been trying to catch up on all of my sports photos this fall and this is one that I absolutely had to scrap! Over Labor Day, our 2006 softball team had a reunion. They were one of the most fun teams, I ever had the pleasure to coach. Every time I look at this photo I'm reminded of how much fun they had playing together during high school and how the fun continued this day as they got together on a field once again.
Whether you are current or continually playing catch-up like I do, I hope whenever you look at your scrapbook pages they make you smile as much as this one makes me (of course, using paper from SS&M makes me smile too)!

Sweet Scarecrow!
I love this time of year -- the temps are falling, the leaves are dropping and the kids are gearing up for the harvest party at church. I love the effort that they put into their costumes! Luke the scarecrow - this is one of my all time favorites!

Keeping Goal!
My son is playing his first year of soccer with the town rec league (as you may be able to tell by all the soccer layouts!) and he's loving every minute of it. He's super aggressive and wants to be where ever the ball is. Well, every player has to do their time playing goal. He gets excited to be playing goalie, until the game wanders down to the other end of the field. I was watching him try to stay focused on the game and when he struck this pose, I knew just what to do with the photo! And, I'm super lucky to have access to all of these fabulous Scrappin' Sports and More soccer papers and embellishments to play with!!

1st Day of School
We got our dog on the last day of school, so for 3 months she had the kids home everyday. She did not know what to do with herself on the first day of school. She went from room to room, flopping down on the floor and sighing. Luckily now, she has learned the routine :)

Are you ready for some football?
Gosh, that is a common question in our house in the fall. My son has been strappin' on the pads and pullin' on the uniform every weekend in the fall since he was in 7th grade. He's now a junior in college I can't count how many weekends we've spent in the bleachers cheering him on from those early days as he was learning to play, to his senior year in high school as the team made a run toward a state championship and now during his college career. So to answer that question.... why YES! We are ready for some football in this house.
