My son participated in a local wrestling league for one season.  Of course the photos from the crowded & poorly lit gymnasiums aren't great but I am still thankful to have them.

My layout features Scrappin' Sports & More Custom Wave Paper (#907) and Scrappin' Sports & More Custom Cotton Paper (#905) - Scrappin' Sports & More's Custom papers really personalize your scrapbook pages!   You can see the Custom papers Here!

In honor of standardized testing week...

I thought I would try out a school layout and the new customized papers!!  These new papers are AMAZING!!  You can add your school name or pretty much anything else.  As this is my daughter's freshman year, what better way to highlight her school picture?  And you can even change the background color.  I chose white because of the teal shirt she was wearing, but you can choose one of many colors!!

Be sure to check out the catalog as you can even add images such as school mascots to some of the papers!!

Oh...and for those of you students taking standardized tests this week (at least they are here in Fort Wayne)...GOOD LUCK!!!

OHIO...Buckeye Country

For those of you familiar with Ohio State University, you will understand that the kids jumping off the raft are spelling out OHIO.  It took a lot of picture taking, but I was happy to get one photo where you can make out the letters.  The new Scrappin' Sports & More Swimming paper is the perfect backdrop for these photos.  All I had to do is add a few pieces of cardstock in the red and grey and the layout was complete.  What kind of swimming pictures do you have from last season that still need to be put in your scrapbook?  This double sided paper is sure to get you well on your way :)

My Tennis Pro - He's an Ace!

Austin loves all sports and all competitions - if it involves a racket or a ball, he is all over it.  If he isn't already good at it, he is willing to give it his best shot.  Tennis is no exception.  It's not his favorite sport, but he's happy to give you a game!  I love that the new tennis papers can be used for my tennis Ace or my retriever and his favorite toy!  Very versatile!

Dreaming of Summer!

It's been really cold here in Maine, but we are starting to feel glimpses of warmpth and seeing the sure sign of spring: MUD!  The thought of being warm in the sun always makes me think of summer!  Last summer, we discovered a fabulous beach that is only a short drive from our house.  It's one of those beaches that is usually filled with just the "locals," so it's never really crowded.  We spent many dreamy days there enjoying the sun, sand and surf.  The kids liked the "surf" part the best and played with their boogie boards for hours just walking out and riding the waves back in with screeches and giggles every single time!

The "Simming" paper in the new "The Sport is..." line was perfect to scrap one of those priceless photos that I snapped at the beach this summer!  And, it worked really well with the Watersports paper from the "Head On Sports" line that I used for the background.

Things I love....

#1 on the list:  "The Sport Is...".  SS&M's newest paper release!

This line is not limited to just sports either!  Included in the new papers is the Homecoming/Prom double sided paper.  Here, I've used the Prom side of the paper - the writing is elegant and with it being in black and white, well, it will go with any color you'd like to add.  I used Umbrella Stripes and Tiles paper to add pops of color to this Prom layout of my kids from a couple of years ago.

AreYou Ready for some Football?

Luke is!  When Luke was 8 years old, he would carry around that football whereever he would go, always ready for someone to say, "wanna play catch?".  He's almost 11 now and doesn't carry it everywhere he goes anymore, but he's always ready to play some FOOTBALL!

Papa's Fishing Buddy

When my parents lived on the lake, my kids LOVED to go fishing with my dad.  I have so many photos from that time, that I am now getting around to scrapping, thanks to Scrappin' Sports & More!  I used the new Fishing/Hunting paper from the new line called "The Sport is..."  The plaid background is from the "Sports Head On" line's Fishing paper.  I cut the bobbers out from the Fishing paper in the "On the Edge Sports" line and added some baker's twine to pull it all together.  Isn't it fantastic how all of the different lines work together?!

You make me so proud!

I have been so proud of my son this year.  He has tried 2 sports that are totally new to him, cross country and basketball.  Cross country for a sprinter is a big undertaking, but he stuck with it and had some really good times.  While he may not have the best shot yet in basketball, he is tall and has done a wonderful job rebounding.  Of course, Scrappin Sports & More new papers were perfect to capture both of these sports.

Home Sweet Home!

When I saw the new "The Sport Is...." line of papers, there was one paper in particular that popped out at me.  The "Homecoming" paper is beatiful black with white script and a lovely font on the back that says "prom."  It was, of course, intended to scrap the high school dances, but when I saw the Homecoming paper, it meant something else.  There is a very special family that I know who was missing one family member from April until November of 2010.  The father of three, and wonderful husband, of this family was stationed in Saudi Arabia during that time with the Maine Air National Guard.  In November, his family was so excited to greet him at the airport to welcome him home.  So, to honor this incredible military family, and ALL military families, I created this layout about his "Homecoming."  Welcome home, Mike!

Another Sneak Peak!

Super-sized cardstock stickers!  Yep, that's what I'm talkin' about.  SS&M will be debuting their newest over-sized embellishment at CHA this coming week - 10 super-sized ball stickers!  I love these.  I could use them on every sports layout I do for the rest of my life and never grow tired of them.  They are the perfect size for layering with a photo, your journaling or your page title.  They just look fantastic. In the following examples, I've used the golf ball super-sized sticker and (for all you music lovers out there..) I've also used the music super-sized sticker!  I hope you give these a try.  I know you'll love them and be as excited about them as I am.

Happy Birthday Toby

Our family dog recently celebrated his 16th birthday!  I will have to admit parenting a teenage dog is a lot like parenting teenage children. Both want to be independent, but both still need their mama!  Today I'm sharing a few photos taken of Toby this fall.

When SS&M first came out with their Down on the Farm line last year I knew this dog paper would be getting a lot of use in my house.  With it's brown and cream tones and the coordinating solid on the back side and the coordinating stickers... well, perfect for Toby pictures!

Thanks for looking.
