This month, the Design Team has been sharing layouts using the word "Comfort" title.  It took me a little while to find direction with this challenge and then the photo and the paper just came together for me.  All my life I have worked toward bettering myself and have lived by the words, "If you are going to do it, then give it 110%."  In taking some time to reflect, I realize that I am comfortable being ME.  I am a mom to two great kids, a teacher to wonderful middleschoolers, I have surrounded myself with great friends and I get to spend my spare time doing a hobby that I love.  Even though I still have room to grow, I am comfortable with myself.

When I saw this paper from the "Young and Active Seasons" line, I knew that I wanted to find a way to pop those gorgeous butterflies off the page.  So, I cut out the butterflies from a second piece of paper and glued just the middle down right on top of the existing butterfly.  Then, I bent the wings up to give the page dimension which gabve this already beautiful paper, a beautiful effect.

Back to school...

One of the challenges that I face with kids in school is what to do with all their artwork, papers, etc.  Sometimes, I scan them, sometimes I take pictures of them...and sometimes, I just use them on the page itself like I did here.  Since Scrappin Sports and More came out with this AWESOME calendar line, it makes it easy to do a month by month recount of all the fun activities my kids did while they were in school.  Now...if only I could get my kids to cooperate and let me sit next to them in class so I could take better pictures!  :)

Thee is no Season such delight can bring.....

Happy Sunday Everyone :)  I hope everyone is having a wonderful start to the week.  Hopefully you are getting to spend some time with family or friends or maybe a good book.

Here is a layout that I created using the new Calendar Line and the New Sports Head On Line (blue checked background).  This layout featured the August (yellow), October (orange), January (blue) and the April (green) calendar papers.  This line is wonderful and you can mix and match across months or in this case across seasons to create wonderful layouts.

Happy Father's Day!!!

I hope everyone is getting to spend some time with that special Father figure in their life.  It's a beautiful day today and we are enjoying just being together as a family.

Today I am sharing my take on the Project 12 May sketch from Scrapbooking and Cards Today.  I LOVE how easy it is to get an entire month summerized in 2-pages.  The sketch didn't quite have enough room for my photos, so I added a couple more and diveded some of them into two.  The result, a 2-page layout, with 9 pictures summerizing my month.

Gardening: We Dig It!

I created this layout for May's Project 12 Challenge.  I used the left side of the two-page sketch and made a layout about planting our garden.  Every May we plant vegetable and herbs in our two raised bed gardens in our back yard.  This was our third year doing it and we love planting and tending our garden together as a family!

Happy Mother's Day!

Hi, All!  Happy Mother's Day!  This is my first blog post as a Designer for Scrappin' Sports & More and I am SUPER excited!  I made a layout to feature my  beautiful grandmother.  I live in Maine, and I, like many of us here, have French Canadian roots.  My Memere (pronounced mem-may) is the sweetest lady on earth and I feel so lucky to have her in my life and for my kids to be able to know her.  And, this summer she will celebrate her 30th birthday for the 61st time!!  Oh, and for those of you who may not speak French, "je t'aime" means "I love you!"

And Last, but Not Least....Carolyn Lontin

My name is Carolyn Lontin. I have been married to Rick since January 1997; we have one son, Seth and two crazy dogs! We live in gorgeous Colorado, in a suburb just south of Denver. We are less than 20 minute drive to the mountains and love to go there often! I began scrapping in October 2001 to preserve my son's childhood memories and it quickly became an obesession! I love capturing my family's "real" moments both in my photos and in my journaling on my layouts and projects. I have found the creative outlet of scrapping to be incredibly relaxing and quite addictive, which is shocking to the previously dominate non-artistic side of me! Over the past few years, I have had the honor of having my work published in major publications! Since April 1994, I have been a Human Resource Director for a manufacturing company. I also enjoy spending time with family and friends, photography, exercising, cheering on my son's many sports teams, mini-adventures exploring in the mountains, playing with our dogs, and reading. I absolutely love being a part of the Scrappin' Sports & More Design Team, it's a dream come true for me!

And now for some layouts....First up is Catcher

Journaling:
Your biggest adjustment in football was the equipment - so imagine our concern when your coach, Casey Bettis asked you to play catcher. Of course, you agreed to try it. You not only loved it but you were awesome! You impressed everyone when you caught pop-flys in nearly every game your first season. Now as we start your third season of baseball, we are no longer worried about the equipment, we love watching our catcher.
